What does a session involve?
Homeopathic medicine aims to promote your natural vitality and uses the symptoms unique to you as a guide to treatment.
The first session takes over an hour to explore first your main problem and then a larger picture. This involves details of you and your family's medical history, your life story when relevant, your likes and dislikes and how all manner of aspects of life affect you.
The factors affecting your health are individual to you so my aim is to take a sensitive approach to both illness and personality and lifestyle factors to enable you to follow your own way of healing.
Craniosacral therapy is a very gentle hands on treatment (fully clothed) in which many movements within the body are sensed and allowed to alter in whatever way your body chooses. It is client led not practitioner led. It can be a deeply renewing process and focuses on the health of the whole system.
For homeopathy frequency and number of visits vary and it helps if you are prepared to come more than once. The plan is to allow a problem to be sorted out as far as possible and this takes time. Mostly follow up visits are recommended at 4 to 6 week intervals.
Biodynamic craniosacral therapy really needs several appointments at weekly or 2weekly intervals.
Remedies and medicines
Homeopathic remedies are diluted and potentised and so are non toxic making them safe for children, in pregnancy and for people sensitive to medication.
Many medical drugs can be taken alongside homeopathy and it is recommended that you continue medication unless discussed with your homeopath and GP. There are a few medical drugs which can affect the body so powerfully that homeopathy does not work well. This can be discussed before you start treatment.
Other therapies such as relaxation, counselling, osteopathy and nutrition may be recomended as will orthodox treatment if it is indicated.
